BIOGRAPHY
 
Wayne Denton Fox

Wayne Denton Fox was born on December 24, 1925, in Port Chester, New York, to Henriette Underhill, age 21, and Frederick Henry Fox, age 22. Wayne attended Port Chester High School prior to entering the Coast Guard In 1943. In Rye his family lived at 21 Soundview Avenue.

Wayne enlisted 1943 and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He served until 1946 and later in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

Wayne married Marie Louise Sprenger on April 14,1950. The Rev. Ernst Neumaim performed the ceremony at the Summerfield Methodist Church in Port Chester. At the time he was employed by the American Felt Company in Glenville, CT. They had ten children during their marriage.

The couple moved to Mahopac to raise their family. Wayne worked for and retired from the American-Connecticut Water Co. in Greenwich. He was a member the Presbyterian Church of Mahopac Falls.

Mr. Fox, a Mahopac resident for 28 years, died on April 29, 1980, at the age of 54.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Marie Sprenger Fox of Mahopac; four sons, Timothy, Theodore and Mark of Mahopac and Wayne of Stamford, Conn.; six daughters, Barbara Geis of Brewster, Mass.; Susan Scheedel of Freehold, N.J., and Marie, Deborah, Danielle and Deirdre Fox of Mahopac; and two grandchildren..
