Vincent E. Ganun

Vincent E Ganun was born on January 6, 1916, to Cora June, age 37, and Chauncey Bunce Brewster Ganun, age 37. He had two brothers and three sisters. He was educated in Rye and graduated from Rye High School, Class of 1933. In Rye his family lived at 747 Boston Post Road.

Vincent enlisted and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He rose to the rank of sergeant and was honorably discharged in January, 1946.

After the war, Vincent worked as a gas station attendant for Rye Garage in Rye, NY. He was with the company for 30 years before retiring in 1960. Locally, he was a member of the Rye Police Reserve.

Vincent E. Ganun, a longtime resident of Port Chester, NY died of natural causes on August 8, 2003 at his home. He was 87.

At the time of his death, he was survived by nephews Stephen Ganun of Brewster, NY and James Ganun of Milford, CT. Family members who died earlier included his wife Maria, three sisters and two brothers.
