Samuel J. Gioseffi
Samuel (Sam) J. Gioseffi was born In Rye on Jan 24 1914 the son of Ercole and Marie (Paternoster) Gioseffi. He had four brothers

, and Nicholas. In Rye his family lived at

. Sam was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1933.
In 1940 Sam was employed by Pacific Mills and working in New York City. On February 2, 1942 he married Evelyn Aletti the Church of St Gregory the Great in Harrison. The couple would have two children during their marriage.
He enlisted March 21, 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Sam rose to the rank of Corporal and served in Africa, Italy, France and Germany.

was just as surprised one day in France when Corp. Samuel Gioseffi walked up to him. Mike was in England three years before going to France and Sam has travelled 5,000 miles through fhe African and Italian campaigns. They then went out and met John Bucco, another of the boys who played on Y. M. C. A. teams before the war.

Sam received his honorable discharge from the Army February 21, 1946.
After the war he was a salesman for 46 years with M Lowenstein & Son a New York City textile manufacturer. He then continued to work as an accountant for the Harrison water department.
Sam was a parishioner of the Church of St Gregory the Great in Harrison. He was also a member of the Rye Triple A , a fraternal organization.
Samuel (Sam) J. Gioseffi died Friday at Greenwich Hospital. He was 88
He was survived by his wife the former Evelyn Aletti of the home address a son Samuel J Jr of Hollywood Calif a daughter Marilyn of the home address and three brothers Aurelio of San Francisco Morris (Bill) of Fort Lauderdale Fla and Nicholas of Brea Calif
