Russell C. Appler

Russell C. Appler was born June 20, 1925 in Bay Shore, N.Y. He was a son of the late Russell Appler and Ruth (Nielsen) (Appler) Goodfellow. In Rye his family lived on North Street.

Russell enlisted September 22, 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Russell was a respiratory therapist who specialized in home care. He was a member of the Paoli Presbyterian Church, Pottstown Aircraft Owners & Pilots, and the Pitcairn Squadron.

Russell C. Appler, 88, husband of Linda (Kauffman) Appler, of Phoenixville, Pa., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Atria Woodbridge Place.

In addition to his wife, he was survived by daughters, Karen Jo Finley Galen and husband Robert, Mary Elizabeth Dollar and friend Dennis Szabo, Kersten Appler Cunampio and husband Edyl; sons, Walter David Appler, Russell Francis Appler, Sr., Mikael Gene Appler and wife Paige; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren Preceded in death is sister, Carol Goodfellow Zajac.

Relatives and friends were invited to attend his memorial service in the chapel at the Paoli Presbyterian Church, 255 S. Valley Road, Paoli, PA, on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013,
