BIOGRAPHY
 
Robert F. Reybine was born in New Rochelle, NY February 16, 1912, the son of Alpheus and Martha Huntington Reybine. In Rye his family lived at 94 Grace Church Street and were members of Christ's Church. Robert graduated from Princeton University in 1933.

He married Miss Althea Crow on May 19, 1938 at Christ's Church in Rye.

Robert served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Navy during for three years overseas and was discharged as lieutenant on November 14,1945.

Robert moved to East Marion, NY in 1946 and became a partner in Brigham's Shipyard, Greenport until 1966. He was affiliated with William J Mills & Co temporarily and was in the yacht-measuring business with his brother Lawrence. Robert was a past commodore of the Chinese Yacht Club, and belonged to the Orient and Shelter Island Yacht clubs.

He spent most of his life sailing and encouraged other people to participate in the sport. He was on the board of trustees of the East Marion Primary School for three years and was chairman of the East Marion special Heart Fund for 17 years.

Robert F Reybine of East Marion died on Friday, December 14, at Eastern Long Island Hospital. He was 67.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, the former Althea Crow; three daughters, Suzanne Fay, Linda Ellis and Sarah Jane Reybine; a sister Eleanor Isdale; and a brother, Lawrence Huntington Reybine.

A memorial service was held December 17 at the Orient Congregational Church. Interment was in the Coutant Cemetery in New Rochelle. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Published in The Suffolk Times on Dec 20, 1979 p19
