Robert F. Gray

Robert F. Gray was born in Ohio in 1927 to Robert F. and Cecile Apsey Gray. He had one sister Mary Jane and in Rye his family lived at 217 Oakland Beach Ave. Robert was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1944.

Four Rye Students Pass Navy V-12 Examinations
Four Rye High School students passed the Navy V-12 examinations last week and are now awaiting assignment to colleges to commence their training. They are Alfred Potter, Robert Gray, Richard Hoilister and Irving Wood. Hoilister also passed the V-5 course for the Navy Air Corps and will enter that branch of the service. Wood passed the examination for the radio technician course.

He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Robert served in the American Theatre and was discharges as a Seaman Second Class.

After the war, Robert attended Yale and majored in Anthropology.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Gray, of Casper, Wyo., died of exposure after their sailboat capsized on wind-whipped Pathfinder Reservoir southwest of Casper.
