Richard B. Hollaman was born in New York in 1922. In Rye his family lived at 242 Manursing Way and were members of the Presbyterian Church. Richard served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Served in Army in WWII, 1st Lt, field artillery, Battle of Bulge, awarded Purple Heart.

Dateline-Exeter, NH Richard Buchanan ''Buck'' Hollaman, 87, passed peacefully on November 3, 2009 at his home. He moved with his wife, Sally, to Riverwoods at Exeter, NH from Darien, CT. in 1995. Graduate of Deerfield Academy, Yale University, NYU (MBA). Served in Army in WWII, 1st Lt, field artillery, Battle of Bulge, awarded Purple Heart. In his business career, he was a financial analyst and money manager.
Buck was a longtime Board member and past Board President of the East Side House Settlement, Bronx, NY. He was a Board member and active volunteer at Rockingham Nutrition/Meals on Wheels and a member of the Exeter Congregational Church (UCC). Buck enjoyed fishing, especially fly fishing. He loved the out of doors and had concern for the environment. Buck traveled the world with his wife: bicycling in Holland, heli-hiking in the Canadian Rockies, exploring Beijing to Moscow on the Orient Express. Buck was a great dancer, an entertaining teller of stories and jokes, who fully enjoyed his family and friends.
Survived by wife of 60 years, Sally (nee Howard), sons, Richard B, Jr, G. Keith, and Dr. Timothy E. Hollaman and daughter, Lucy H. Cheever, eight grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Also by sister, Mrs. Robert L. Randolph (Mary Lou) of Towson, MD. Pre deceased by sister, Mrs. Daniel G. Dobbins (Joan) Memorial service to be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Riverwoods at Exeter.
