Malcolm I Oakford

Malcolm Isdale Oakford was born on March 9, 1923, in Manhattan, New York, to Amelia Aitken Isdale, age 20, and Edward Hurlbut Oakford, age 25.

He had one sister Laura and in Rye his family lived on Stuyvesant Avenue. Malcolm was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1941.

He enlisted November 11, 1942 when he was a student at Yale. Malcom served as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharge on January 6, 1946.

He returned to Yale and graduated in 1948. Per the 1950 Census Malcom was working as a sales executive for a printing company in New York City.

He married Barbara Margaret Woolworth in Bedford, New York, on March 10, 1951, when he was 28 years old. The brides great uncle was FW Woolworth founder of the stores that beard his name.

Malcolm Isdale Oakford died on August 10, 1984, in Stamford, Connecticut, when he was 61 years old.
