Lewis H. Lichtman Lewis H. Lichtman was born on December 17, 1924, in New York City, New York, to Sophie Singer and Edward Lichtman. He had an older brother Morton and in Rye his family lived on Rosemere St.
He was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1942. In school he was involved in sports ,clubs and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Lewis served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Navy from July 1, 1943 until July 17, 1946, when he was honorably discharged at 21 years old.
He married Dolores Maloy in Detroit, Michigan, on August 19, 1950, when he was 25 years old. They had five children during their marriage. Lewis Lichtman died on October 27, 2003, in Tampa, Florida, when he was 78 years old.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife of 53 years, Dee; three daughters, Nancy Garrison and husband Ken, Ellen Vaughan and husband Lee, Carolyn Nolen and husband Larry; two sons, David and wife Gloryvette, and Paul and wife Mary; a brother Morton and wife Betty Jean; 12 grandchildren and one great grandson.
A World War II Navy veteran, graveside services with military honors were held at Florida National Cemetery.
