BIOGRAPHY
Joseph M. Lalla
Joseph M. Lalla was born March 7 1910 to Michael and Teresa Cocomazzi Lalla of Rye. His father, Michael, was 41 and his mother, Theresa, was 37. He had five brothers and three sisters. Joseph, Gertrude, Frank,

Peter
, Antoinette,
Bart
and John.
In Rye his family lived at
30 High Street
and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
Joseph enlisted June 3, 1943 and served as a private in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He served in the Philippines in an antiaircraft unit and was honorably discharged December 22, 1945.
After returning home Joseph worked from 1946 to the early 1970s for the State Department of Highways.
Joseph M Lalla a lifelong Rye resident died Monday December 26, 1994 at United Hospital Medical Center in Port Chester He was 84.
At the time of his death, in addition to his wife the former Martha Unger he was survived by a daughter Teresa Weiss of North Carolina three brothers Dominick T Lalla of Port Chester Bartholomew Lalla of Rye and Peter Lalla of Mahopac and a sister -Antoinette Cammarota of Port Chester Two brothers Frank and 'John and a sister Gertrude Brandy died earlier.
