Joseph J. Lane

Joseph J. Lane was born in New York in 1924, his father, Joseph, was 32 and his mother, Ruth, was 20. He had two brothers Thomas and Ernest along with a sister Rosamond. In Rye his family lived at 29 Ellsworth Street. Joseph was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1942 and also attended the Stevens Institute of Technology.

He enlisted Decmber 13, 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II for four years as a lieutenant Junior Grade, attended attending both the V-12 and Midshipmen's schools. Joseph served onboard the USS PC 485, which was a patrol craft in the Pacific Theatre. View Discharge Record for awards and more service history.

He married Marjorie Elizabeth Porter on September 10, 1949, in New Rochelle, New York. They had one child during their marriage.

He was a member of Delta Tau Delta and was associated with the advertising department at The New York Daily News.

Joseph J. Lane died in Deerfield, NH on January 9, 2013.
