BIOGRAPHY
Joseph Angeletta
Joseph Angeletta was born in Harrison, NY on August 6, 1915, to Nicoletta (nee Ragiappa), age 27, and Ralph Angeletta, age 32. he had one sister Angelina and a brother
Anthony
. In Rye his family lived at
15 High Street
and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
Joseph was a Rye High School graduate , Class of 1939. In high school he was on the Football and Golf team and president of the Boxing Club. Joseph enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Upon returning from the war Joseph worked many years as a car salesman in Rye. Later he would partner with Heavy weight boxing Champion
Rocky Marciano and open a Bowling Alley and Lounge
in Larchmont, NY. He was a member of the Rye Triple A and served many years as a trustee.
Joseph Angeletta of Mamaroneck, NY passed away at his home on March 14, 2008.
He was survived by his daughter Joanne Barber, son Joey Angeletta and grandson Thomas Barber.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Resurrection Church in Rye
Obituary Published in The Journal News on Mar. 15, 2008.
