BIOGRAPHY
Joseph Albert Hitz was born in New York in 1908. In Rye his family lived at 131 Purchase Street. Joseph served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
J. Albert Hitz, Ex-Insurance Executive, Dies
WINDHAM - J. Albert Hitz, 66. of North Road, New England divisional manager of the Equitable Life Assurance Co. of Hartford until his retirment last year, died Saturday in Windham Community Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hitz was born in New York City. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed by the Equitable Life Assurance Co. tor 30 years before retiring.
He leaves his wife Mrs. Elizabeth Cole Hitz; two brothers, Clinton B. Hitz of Floral Park, N.Y., and Russell C. Hitz of Cape Porpoise, Maine; and a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Hendrickson of Nutley, N.J.
The funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. in Windham Congregational Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., is making arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to a charity.
