John P. Botticelli

John P. Botticelli was born Feb 17, 1918 in Rye to James and Jennie Pirrozzi Botticelli. He had one brother Gus and a sister Rose. In Rye his family lived at 8 Nursery Lane and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. John was raised and educated in Rye and he enlisted in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

During World War II John served in the Army in Italy. On July 8 1947 he married Ida Vitti at Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester.

John was a manager at Arnolds Bakery in Greenwich Conn for 33 years before retiring in 1978. Hei was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church and a member of the Port Chester Old Timers. He moved to Greenwich from Rye In the late 1960's.


Survivors include his wife of Greenwich a daughter Bernadette Volpe of Harrison a broth--er Cosmo of Rye Brook a sister Rose VeriUe of Rye and a granddaughter A memorial Mass will be af 11 am tomorrow at Holy Rosary Church - Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of chofoe


John Botticelli a retired bakery manager and former Rye resident died Sunday Aug 3 1997 at Westchester - County Medical Center in-Valhalla He i was 79

At the time of his death, survivors included his wife of Greenwich, a daughter Bernadette Volpe of Harrison a brother Cosmo of Rye Brook a sister Rose VeriUe of Rye and a granddaughter.

A memorial Mass was held at Holy Rosary Church.
