John M. Baron

John Mattus Baron was born on November 13, 1926, in Port Chester, New York, his father, John, was 34 and his mother, Amelia, was 24. He had two sisters Helen and Marion and a brother George.

In Rye his family lived at 188 Theodore Fremd Avenue and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. John enlisted in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Pvt. John M. Baron Jr. field artillery US army is home on a 12 day furlough from Fort Sill , Ok. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. John Baron of 188 Theodore Fremd Avenue.

He married Lorraine Marie Graham on October 8, 1959, in Washington, District of Columbia. They had two children during their marriage. John was a paid fireman for the City of Rye. After retiring he moved to Florida.

He died on October 26, 1980, in Cape Canaveral, Florida, at the age of 53, and was buried in Rye, New York.

At the time of his death, survivors included his two sons, Richard and Thomas Baron of Cocoa Beach; and one brother and two sisters living outside the state.
