Alaska, March 24—John J. Burke Jr., 36, of Rye, on duty with the Eleventh Air Force in Alaska has been promoted from corporal to sergeant, according to a recent announcement here. Sergeant Burke is in the Quartermaster section at an Air Base has been in the Alaskan theater for twenty-two months. He received his basic training at Patterson Field, Ohio. He was inducted in May, 1942.
