John H. Palmer was born in New York in 1927. In Rye his family lived on Purchase Street. John enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

John H. Palmer, 89, of North Andover, MA, formerly of New Milford, CT, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2015.
Born in New York City to the late William P. and Marjorie B. Palmer. Jack graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard University (AB '47, MS '50), and he served in the Navy during World War II.
He spent his career at IBM, where he worked on the development of some of its earliest computers. In his free time, Jack enjoyed sailing, music, math puzzles and reading, especially the works of P.G. Wodehouse.
Beloved husband of the late Anne (Hulick) Palmer. Brother of William P. Palmer, Jr. and his wife Ethel of Danbury, CT. Predeceased by his brother David B. Palmer and his wife Elna. Loving father of Stephen and his wife Kate of Middleton, MA, Thomas and his wife Linda of Milton, MA, and Aline (Palmer) Reynders and her husband Mark of Simi Valley, CA. Dear Granddad of Scott, Craig, Emily, Elizabeth, Nathan, and Stephen.
A memorial service celebrating Jack's life will be held on Saturday, August 29 at 11 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, New Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Animal Welfare Society, Inc., 8 Dodd Road, New Milford, CT 06776 or The Michael J.
