BIOGRAPHY
Harry J. Farrell
Harry J. Farrell was in Rye on April 13, 1923 to Mae and Harry Farrell. In Rye his family lived at
15a Forest Avenue
and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Harry was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1942.
Harry enlisted on September 2, 1942, when he was 19 years old.and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
In December 1942 Harry wrote below:
Rye Boys In Armed Services Acknowledge Christmas Packages
"
I received the package you sent and want to thank every one of you. Such packages keep us from griping. Sorry I can't tell you all about the things we are doing.
"
HARRY J. FARRELL, JR.
He was honorably discharged January 31, 1946.
Harry J. Farrell, 78, of Springfield, MA and former resident of Rye, died on September 27, 2001 after a short illness. He has resided in Springfield for 25 years.
At the time of his death, Harry was survived by two brothers,
William J. Farrell
of Rye and
Lawrence Farrell
of Harrison, NY, and six nieces.
