George W. Yusi
George W Yusi was born on February 22, 1925, in New York to Maria Antoinette Spinelli, age 40, and Louis Yusix Yusi, age 53. He had seven brothers and six sisters. In Rye his family lived at 68 Grapal Street and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
George enlisted in the Army on June 23, 1944, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, during World War II. He was 19 years old and served with Company G of the134 Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division.
The 35th moved to Arlon, Belgium December 25–26, and took part in the fighting to relieve Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge, throwing off the attacks of four German divisions, taking Villers-laBonne-Eau on 10 January, after a 13-day fight and Lutrebois in a 5-day engagement. On 18 January 1945, the division returned to Metz to resume its interrupted rest.
George was honorably discharge on April 24,1946. He was awarded American Campaign, Good Conduct and World War II Victory medals.
After the war, He married Rita Perruccio at Resurrection Church in on July 23 1949. George worked as parking lot manager. He was a manager for Courtesy Parking System in White Plains for 23 years retiring in 1988. He had lived in White Plains for 41 years.
George W Yusi died on January 29, 1990, at the age of 64.
