Frederick C. Findeisen was born in New York in 1910. In Rye his family lived on Walker Avenue. Frederick served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Findeisen Given Parties
Frederick C. Findeisen, of Walker Avenue, left Thursday for Army service in an officers training camp and earned with Him pleasant recollections of two send off parties. First he made his last appearance with the Rye Auxiliary Firemenat a dinner and then went to the home of Kurt Weissheimer to be feted by the Glen Oaks Taxpayers Association.

Frederick C. Findeisen, 74, died Nov. 23, 1984, in Ferrisburg at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth Markowski. He was born Aug.
19, 1910, in pui Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Elsie and Charles Findeisen. Fred served in the Chemical Corps of the U.S. Army for 20 years and retired with the rank of captain. During this time he was awarded the Army commendation ribbon, good conduct metal, the cross for conspicuous service and numerous other commendations. He served during World War I| and the Korean Conflict and was dedicated to his country.
Upon retiring Fred spent 17 years in North Creek, N.Y., where he was active in Fred's Group Square Dancers, the Minerva School District, the Boy Scouts and Adirondack Life. An avid rock collector, Fred was the founder of the Long Island Hounds in 1955. Fred was married to Dorothy Rapp Findeisen, who died April 27, 1965. He is survived by his three children, Frederick C. Findeisen Jr.
of Alamo, Calif., Elizabeth Markowski of Ferrisburg, Robert J. Findeisen of Kalespill, Mont.; a sister, Carolyn Dietrick of New Cumberland, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Deborah, Kim, Meggan, Eben, Stephan, Judd, Robert and Sarah. Services will be held Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Vergennes Congregational Church.
