Eugene Elias


Eugene Elias was born in Nove Mesto N/V, Czechoslovakia 6 Aug 1907. He attended Czechoslovakian schools.

Before the war Eugene was working as a waiter at Westchester Country Club and in Rye he lived at 240 Purchase Street.

He became a US citizen in 1942 and enlisted and served as a sergeant in the U S Army during World War II.

Eugene married Miss Irma Bohrman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bohrman of New York City on march 26,1944. The ceremony took place in the chapel of Halloran General where Sergeant Elias was stationed. Rabbi Alexander Rosenberg officiated assisted by Chaplain Walter Blumenthal. A reception followed at he hospital service club.

The couple would move and live in Staten Island, NY.

Eugene Elias died December 24, 1987 in Los Angeles, CA.
