Ernest Edward Taylor was born on January 28, 1926, in Port Chester, New York, to Charlotte M. Watherne, age 37, and Ralph E Taylor, age 32. He had three sisters Alice, Charlotte and Muriel and two brothers John and Ralph. In Rye his family lived at 31 Grapal Street.
Ernest enlisted March 24, 1944, when he was 18 years old and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war Ernest was stationed in the Philippines previously seeing combat service in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres.
He married Mary Helena Gilette in White Plains, New York, on August 6, 1949, when he was 23 years old. They would have three children during their marriage. Ernest worked as an auto mechanic and the family lived in White Plains.
He later moved to Walden, NY and was employed by the Interstate Bag Co in Walden. He belonged to Post 93 American Legion in Port Chester
Ernest Taylor 39 of Walden NY formerly of White Plains died suddenly Saturday November 27, 1965 near his home on Kings Hill Road. He was 39 years old.
At the time of his death, he was survived by a son William, two daughters Beatrice and Marion, two brothers John of Armonk and Ralph of Mount Kisco and two other sisters Miss Alice Taylor of South Colton NY and Mrs Carl Vocke of Rye.
