Elwood J. Ferris


Elwood J Ferris was born on October 7, 1919, in Rye, New York, to Violet Parliment, age 21, and Leander Maximilian Ferris, age 20. He had two brothers and one sister. In Rye his family lived at 35 Oakland Gardens and were members of Christ's Church.

Elwood enlisted on April 27, 1944, when he was 24 years old and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He had three sons and two daughters with Rose Yusi. He died on May 15, 1975, in his hometown at the age of 55.

Elwood Ferris, 55 a former firefighter to the Rye Fire Department died Thursday at United Hospital. He was predeceased by his first wife Rose Yusi.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife the former Michdtoa Matero DeVico two soos Leander of Harrisoo and Elwood Jr of Rye two daughters Rom Santoli of Bronx ville and Linda Ray of Mount' Ktaco two brothers Runell and Lm both of Rye a Muter Murid Carpenter of York town Heights and three
