David A. Kurr

David A. Kurr was born in New York May 9, 1926 to Fred and Suzanne Burpee Kurr. He had one brother Fred and a sister Katherine and in Rye his family lived at 66 Milton (Blind Brook Lodge).

David enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Sgt. David Kurr Gets Good Conduct Medal in Japan
HEADQUARTERS EIGHTH ARMY, YOKOHAMA, JAPAN—The Good Conduct Medal has been awarded Sgt. David A. Kurr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Kurr, Blind Brook Lodge, Rye, for exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity, according to recent orders issued at Lt. Gen. Robert Eichelberger's Eight Army Headquarters. Sgt. Kurr, a graduate of Choate School, entered the army December 22, 1944. After training at Camp Wheeler, Ga., he sailed overseas May 31, 1945. He is now serving with the Ordnance Section of Eighth Army Headquarters in Yokohama.

David married Miss Joyce Alice Boardman on Oct. 7, 1950 in the First Presbyterian Church, Ardmore PA. A reception at the Philadelphia Country Club followed the ceremony.

The couple lived in Westchester County for many years raising their family. David was a successful sales and marketing executive in the metal industry.
