Daniel F Vecchiolla
Daniel F Vecchiolla was born in New York October 11, 1921. In Rye his family lived at 124 Maple Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
He lived with his Father, Micheal Vecchiolla, his Mother, Lucia Vecchiolla, his younger brothers, Anthony, Leonard, Micheal Jr, John Vecchiolla, and one Sister, Laura Vecchiolla. The home they lived in cost $4,000 ($76,000 in today’s dollars). The Mother and Father were both born in Italy, while all the children were born in New York.
Growing up in Rye, Daniel was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1941. In high school he was a part of the Fingerprints Club, Driver’s Club, Boxing Club and a Junior Coach. His Senior Quote was: "There are men both good and wise."
After Graduating, Daniel served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He enlisted on July 14, 1942, in New York City, New York. He was 20 years old.
Daniel Frederick Vecchiolla died on February 5, 2005, in Gresham, Oregon, at the age of 83, and was buried at Willamette National Cemetery in Oregon.
