Charles T. Johnson

Charles T. Johnson was born in New York September 7, 1924. He had one brother Elmer and in Rye his family lived at 140 Purchase Street.

Charles was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1943, where he played football and was a member of the Glee Club. He graduated early and enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

Charles served stateside at Montford Point Camp, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was assigned to the Seacoast Artillery Group, Fifty Second Defense Battalion, his rank was Field Music First Class.
