BIOGRAPHY
Charles Russell Ferris
Charles Russell Ferris was born on June 19, 1924, in Rye, New York, to Violet Parliment, age 26, and Leander Maximilian Ferris, age 24. He had two brothers and one sister. In Rye his family lived at
35 Garden Drive
and were members of Christ's Church.
Charles enlisted enlisted in the Army on February 19, 1943, in New York City, New York, during World War II. He was 18 years old.
He married Clara Josephine Yusi in June 1943 at the Church of tbo Resurrection with the Rev John D McGowan pastor officiating They would have one son during their marriage.
After his honorable discharge Charles returned to Rye and was employed as a bus driver for many years.
Charles became the proprietor of the Marina Deli in Rye, NY from 1965 to 1978.
Charles Ferris died on February 19, 2007
at Greenwich Hospital.
At the time of his death he was survived by his son Richard and his wife Andrea and four grandchildren: Christopher, Danielle, Daina and Alyssa.
He was predeceased by his much loved wife of 53 years Clara in December of 1996.
