Charles D. Dean Charles D. Dean was born in New York in 1908. In Rye his family lived on Highland Hall Apts.. Rye, NY.
Charles attended the Cincinnati Academy of Art, and was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He was employed as a textile designer by Ellison and Springs, Inc., New York City, before entering the service..
Charles enlisted and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He served with the Headquarters Squadron of the 12th Airforce in Africa and Italy. Sergeant Dean's organization landed on D-Day at Arzew. North Africa, and from Nov. 8, 1942, until the final defeat of the German forces in Italy played an important part in the functions of. the 12th Air Force.

Rye, NY, who entered the Armed Forces in October, 1942, and has served overseas since October. 1943, as a draftsman in the historical section at headquarters, is authorized to wear the gold wreath Insignia on his right sleeve emblematic of the Meritorious Unit Plaque awarded to his organization Headquarters Squadron 12th Airforce . After the war, Charles worked with the firm of Ellison & Spring in New York City. He married Jane Ferguson Karver August 25, 1950 in the Rye Presbyterian Church with the Rev. E. A. Talcott Jr., officiating. The couple resided for a time at the Coveleigh Club in Rye until their new home was completed in Port Chester.
Charles D. Dean died November 1, 1980 in Port Chester, NY.
