BIOGRAPHY
Charles C. A. Bienfait was born in New York in 1922. In Rye his family lived on Dogwood Lane. Charles served as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Charles C. A. Bienfait was born in Rye and lived on Dogwood Lane when he joined the Army Air Force in 1944 upon graduation from Yale University. He attained the rank of Captain.
Bienfait, Charles, of Delray Beach, FL and a long time former resident of Rye, NY died January 25. Mr. Bienfait was born October 24, 1922 in Rye to Ramona Ham and Charles C.A. Bienfait.
He graduated from the Taft School and was a member of the class of '44 at Yale University. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII and retired as Captain.
While in Rye, he belonged to the Apawamis Club. He was Vice-President, Sales and Marketing for Shiny Brite, a Christmas ornament company, for many years and later managed Doblin, Inc., a family owned gentlemen's clothing store in New Canaan, CT.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia Doblin Bienfait; three daughters, Terese Bienfait Blake, Constance Bienfait and Mona Bienfait Hartley; seven grandchildren: Chad and Carrie Steers, Ashley, Brent and Owen Blake and Daphne and Samantha Hartley. He moved to Delray Beach in 1993 where he was a member of the St. Andrews Club.
Memorial Service will be held March 18 at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach. Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 33 Gleason St., Delray Beach, FL 33483.
