  Blakeman Q Meyer
Blakeman Quintard Meyer was born on October 26, 1910, in Rye, New York, to Mary Beaven Cooke, age 26, and Blakeman Quintard Meyer, age 28. He had three sisters and in Rye his family lived on Hillandale Road and were members of Christ's Church.
He graduated from South Kent School and attended the Tome School.
Blake married Justine Wilken on September 28, 1940, when he was 29 years old. The couple would have five children during their marriage. Prior to his entrance into the service
was in the advertising business in
New York City.
 Blake enlisted August 28, 1942 and served as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was
stationed in the Netherlands East
Indies, where he is assigned to the
Southwest Pacific Wing,
Air Transport Command as Organizational
Planning officer.
By the end of World War II, Air Transport Command had developed into a huge military air carrier with a worldwide route pattern. From an organization of approximately 37,000 personnel (6,500 of them overseas) in December 1942, it numbered nearly 210,000 in August 1945, the bulk stationed overseas (150,000). By the end of the war the command had 3,090 major transports assigned.
In its final full month of wartime operations (July 1945), ATC carried 275,000 passengers (50,000 domestically) and 100,000 tons of mail and cargo, 96.7% of it overseas.
Blake also served in New Guinea and Biac and had attained the rank of Major at the time of his discharge.
 After the war, he worked for the Wrigley Corp., and later worked for Ahrens Publishing Co., and Conover Mast Publications. In 1968 he formed Blake Meyer Associates in New York City and worked there until his retirement In 1975.
An avid golfer, Blake was a member of the Stanwich Club In Greenwich and the Little Club, Gulfstream Fla. He was also a member of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich and the Metropolitan Club, New York City.
Blakeman Q. Meyer, a longtime resident of Delray Beach, Fla., died at his summer home in Greenwich, Conn, on September 4, 1992. He was 81 years old
At the time of his death he was survived by his wife of 24 years, Doris A. Meyer of Greenwich and Delray Beach, three sons, Blakeman Q. Meyer of Dallas, Texas, R. itiendore W. Meyer of Hilton Head Island, and (Javid C. Meyer of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Justine M. Lyons of New Canaan, stepson, Robert Glmbel of New York City; one sister, Mrs. G. Earl Carson of Lot Angeles, and nine grandchildren.
