Rocco Salvatore Florio “Rocky” Born October 13, 1932, formerly of Port Chester, passed away suddenly on May 28 at his home in Harrison, NY. Rocky was raised in Mt Vernon and Rye, NY. He Graduated from Rye High in 1950 where he played both baseball and basketball. Rocky honorably served in the US Army. He was active in the Korean War and was sighted with a Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and the National Defense Service Medal. Rocky worked at Pitney Bowes for 33 years as a machinist and retired at 55. He loved to play golf and was a caddy at the Apawamis Club. Rocky also enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors. He loved watching sports and good food. Rocky is predeceased by his brother Emanuel, as well as his parents Rocco and Mary Florio (Bellantoni) Rocky is survived by his loving wife Jeanie of 60 years, sister Joesphine Drago as well as his 3 children Donna Sedlack of Brookfield, CT, Karen Florio of Estero, FL, and Jeff Florio of Harrison, NY. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, Judy and Charles Florio, Edward (Trey) and Kyle Wasilesky, and Max, Dale and Annie Sedlack, as well as 1 great grandson Ethan Loewy. A mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 3rd at 10am at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, NY Internment will follow at a later date.
