BIOGRAPHY
Robert A. Harrigan
Bob was born at United Hospital, Port Chester, New York on December 22, 1933, the son of Ellen Walsh and
James Harrigan.
He attended Resurrection Elementary School and graduated from Rye High School, Class of 1953. He was employed by the Rye DPW prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps.
After discharge, Bob was a heavy machine operator for the City of Rye. One of his ideas was to dredge Rye's Blind Brook to forestall the constant overflow and flooding.
Bob married Grace Pedersen on November 4, 1972 in Greenwich, Ct. and he was later employed by Perkin-Elmer in Norwalk Connecticut when he retired.
After his retirement, Bob traveled around the country and resided in Arizona and later moved to Fort Myers, Florida.
He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Bob was an avid fisherman, a loyal Yankee fan, and was delighted to help people needing carpentry work.
Robert A. Harrigan passed away November 24, 2008 at Fort Myers, Florida.
He was predeceased by his siblings Mary Ellen,
James
and Lawrence. At the time of his death, he was survived by his brother
Francis
, nine nieces and nephews, and his former wife Grace.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at The Church of the Resurrection on Tuesday, December 2, 2008.
