Ralph H. Jones was born on December 11th 1932 and lived at 92 Railroad Ave. His father was Frank Ashton Jones and his mother was Zella Mae Whitford Jones. Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. After the war Ralph was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Hickory Hill United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee. At age 83, Ralph passed away on Sunday July 10th, 2016 in Tennessee and was survived by his wife, Stephanie and six children, Ralph Jr., Phillip, Bonnie Jones Garry, Cynthia Lynn Jones,Stephanie Mattiace and David Craig Jones.

Mr. Ralph Herbert Jones Sr., age 83 of Shelbyville passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Ralph was born on Sunday, December11, 1932 to the late Frank Ashton Jones and Zella Mae Whitford Jones.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was married to Stephanie Jones who he shared 57 years with before her passing. She preceded him in death in 2012.

Ralph was a self employed carpenter and a member of Hickory Hill United Methodist Church.


He leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Phillip Jones of Hartford, Connecticut, Stephanie Mattiace and her husband Frank of Mooresville, North Carolina, Bonnie Jones Garry of Danbury, Connecticut and Ralph Jones Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Aminea, New York. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Debra Jones of Brookfield, Connecticut.

Mr. Jones is survived by a great granddaughter that he and his wife raised: Shelby Lynn Ruiz of Memphis, Tennessee and his sister: Blanch Ashberry of Florida.

He is survived by 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two children: Cynthia Lynn Jones in 1997 and David Craig Jones in 2016. Two grandchildren: David William Smalley and Louis John Bellone III. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Per his wishes, Mr. Jones will be cremated with a memorial service planned for Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at Hickory Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Sweet officiating.

Burial of his cremains will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.
