Obituaries JAMES F. HARRIGAN Retired Rye Patrolman James Francis Harrigan of 184 Purchase St., retired Rye policeman, died suddenly Wednesday morning at his home. Flags on city buildings will fly at half mast in his honor until his burial Saturday. Born in Rye, he was the son of the late James Francis and Annie Kilcullen-Harrigan, who were natives of Ireland. He was the husband of the former Ellen Walsh, whom he married Nov.

21, 1921 in the Church of the Resurrection, Rye. Harrigan was appointed 1 to the Rye Police Department June 7, 1920 and retired Feb. 4, 1952 after 32 years of serv. ice as a patrolman. He was a familiar figure riding his police motorcycle on the streets of Rye.

The motorcycle was retired when he was. A parishioner -of the Church of the member Resurrection, of its Rye, Dad's 5, was a Club and Holy Name Society He was educated in Rye schools and was a member of the Police Benevolent Association of Rye, the New York State Sheriff's Association, and the Westchester County Police Benevolent Association and an honorary member of the Westchester Police Conference. In World War I he served in the United States Army. He was also a member the John Grady Council of the Knights of Columbus 503 of Port Chester and the Cardinal Farley General Assembly of the Knights of Columbus of Westchester County. In addition to his wife, he survived by by a daughter, Miss Mary Helen Harrigan of Rye; four sons, James F.

Jr. of White Plains, Francis Joseph of Rye, Robert A. of Port Chester. Lawrence Vincent of Rye; five sisters; Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Leary of Port Chester; Mrs.

Stanley (Carmelita) Matthews of Elmsford, Mrs. Thomas (Regina) Burns of Port Chester; Mrs. Steven (Loretta) Larson of Byram; Mrs. Harold (Alice) Coleman of. Port Chester; and nine grandchildren..
