Norman Lewis Cloutier was born on March 1, 1925, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Annaclaire Brown Nolan, age 24, and Norman Louis Cloutier, age 24.
He had one brother Robert and one sister Patricia. In Rye his family lived at 12 Valley View Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Norman was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1943. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
During his naval career, he served with naval components in the U.S., the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Cloutier Home from Pacific
Norman L. Cloutier, Jr. , S. K. 3/c, U. S. N. R. , son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman L, Cloutier of Forest Avenue, come home after more than a year in the Pacific, where he was editor of the South Pacific Daily News. He was under the V-12 program at Holy Cross College and Harvard University before going overseas. In September he will begin his studies at Syracuse University.

Norman would return to the Navy serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars and would retire from the Navy in 1974 after 32 years of service. After retiring, he lived In the Lansing, Ml area. He was Dean of Lansing Community College's Division of Business from 1976 to 1984 and Executive Director of the College's Business and Industry Institute from 1984 to 1986.
He was a graduate of Syracuse Unverslty, Syracuse, NY, the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. Monterey. CA and the Armed Forces Industrial College, Washington, DC.
He was a former President of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and a Life Member of the Retired Officers Association. He was also a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity.
Norman L. Cloutler, Captain U.S. Navy (Retired), Lansing, Ml. born March 1, 1925 In Hartford, died Saturday (Nov. 9, 1996) at the age of 71 in Fort Wayne. IN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Allison Wright Cloutler.
At the time of his death, he was survived by a son, Stephen Cloutier of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Katherlne Montgmery of Bayonne, NJ and Amy Rakes of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother, Robert Cloutler of Kennebunk, ME; a sister, Patricia Eddy of Savannah. GA; four grandchildren; a great grandson, nieces and nephews.
