  Clifford H. Paul
Clifford Howard Paul was born on April 13, 1920, in Port Chester, New York, to Hilda Isabelle Slagle, age 23, and Clifford Nevada Paul, age 22. He had one sister beatrice. In Rye his family lived at 56 Maple Ave and were members of the Presbyterian Church. Clifford was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1938.
He married Beatrice Josephine Faillace on June 29, 1938, in Mahopac, New York. They had one child during their marriage.
Clifford served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
 He served as Chief on the USS Aulick DD-569,an American Fletcher-class destroyer. Through out the war the radar equipped Aulick was used as a screening ship protecting American battleships, cruisers and carriers from Japanese air and submariner attacks.
 By the end of 1944, Chief Petty Officer Clifford Paul served as an instructor for the Navy at Texas A & M. His specialty was in radar and radio and the training of technicians in this field. (See Discharge Record)
After the war Clifford continued the work he began in the service. Before retiring he had 50 years of experience in communications.
He was a registered professional engineer in New Jersey. He attended RCA and Pratt Institutes and graduated from the Navy school at Texas A&M and the Capital Radio Engineering Institute. He had a commercial radio operator’s license and an amateur radio license for 50 years.
 Clifford was a member of the Scottish Rite freemasonry Los Angeles Zamora Temple Birmingham Ala and White Plains Lodge 473 &AM He was the first inductee into the Society of Cable Television Engineers Hall of Fame 1988.
Clifford Howard Paul 71 of Port St Lucie died Monday April 29, 1991 in HCA Medical Center of Port St Lucie, FL.
A native of Rye NY he lived in Port St Lucie since 1983 He moved here from Washington DC
At the time of his death, survivors included his wife Beatrice Paul of Port St Lucie and a son Clifford Marshall Paul of Sparta NJ.
A masonic service was held at Aycock Funeral Home chapel Port St Lucie. Services were at the funeral home chapel The Rev Howard “Scotty” Burns of Nettles Island Church will officiate
Internment was in Arlington (Va) National Cemetery
