BIOGRAPHY
Frank J. Mack
Francis J (Frank) Mack was born on December 7, 1914, in Rye, New York, to Ann McGoldrick and James Mack. He had four sisters Margaret, Helen, Anna and Rose and a brother James. In Rye his family lived at
60 Orchard Ave
and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. He attended public schools in Rye.
Frank married Mary Delia (May) Savage in Stamford, Connecticut, on October 6, 1934, when he was 19 years old. They would have two sons during their marriage.
Frank enlisted April 21, 1944 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was assigned to a
destroyer
that was known to have taken part in the
Invasion of Iwo Jima
. He was honorably discharged December 12,1945.
After the war, Frank worked for many years for Chevron Oil Company in Rye.
Frank J Mack of Rye 71 a retired truck driver and a World War II veteran died Tuesday October 21, 1986 at United Hospital in Port Chester.
At the time of his death he was survived by two sons Frank and Thomas both of Rye and three sisters Helen G Mack and Rose Evans both of Rye and Margaret McGoldrick of Greenwich Ct.
