When Frank Wilson Wozencraft was born on June 7, 1892, in Dallas, Texas, his father, Alfred, was 32 and his mother, Virginia, was 26. He married Mary Victoria McReynolds on June 7, 1922, in his hometown. They had two children during their marriage. He died on September 3, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 74, and was buried there. In Rye his family lived on Stuyvesant Ave. Frank served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Colonel Wozencraft was awarded the Legion of Merit and Order of the British Empire.
After the war he returned to Dallas to practice law. Mayor of Dallas, Texas, 1919-21. He was twenty-six and was said to be the youngest mayor of any major American city. He declined renomination as mayor in 1921. Sixty-four Texas mayors proposed he be nominated as the next Texas governor, but he declined , noting he was legally underage for that office.
