Elgin Laverne Thompson was born on April 29, 1903, in Welland, Ontario, Canada, his father, William, was 27 and his mother, Clara, was 28. He married Helga A Watt on June 21, 1948, in New York City, New York. He then married Marjorie Conklin on April 27, 1963, in Ramapo, New York. He died on January 16, 1974, in Suffern, New York, at the age of 70, and was buried in Spring Valley, New York. In Rye his family lived at 49 Palisade Road. Elgin enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Elgin L. Thompson

Elgin L. Thompson, of 21 Mile Road, Suffern, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern. A resident of the village for 25 years, he was a retired banker. Elgin Laverne Thompson syarted service in the military on November 20, 1942, when he was 39 years old.

He married Helga A Watt in New York City, New York, on June 21, 1948, when he was 45 years old. His wife Helga passed away on May 9, 1954, at the age of 49. They had been married 5 years. Elgin married Marjorie Conklin in Ramapo, New York, on April 27, 1963, when he was 59 years old.

He is survived by his widow, Marjorie E. Thompson of Suffern. Services will be held Saturday at the Wanamaker and C a r 1 o u g h Funeral Home, Route 59, Suffern, with the Rev. Rudolph H. Wissler officiating. Burial will be at the Brick Church Cemetery, Mon-sey. Friends may call today at the funeral home, from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.
