Joseph P. Brancato

Joseph Brancato was born on February 24, 1926, to Antoinette Suraci, age 27, and Joseph Brancato, age 33. He had three sisters Theresa, Anna and Rose. In Rye his family lived at 8 Summit Avenue and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Joseph attended Rye High School, where he was a member of the band and graduated, Class of 1943.

He enlisted 23 Apr 1944 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

During World War itf Mr. Brancato served as a private in thp U.S. Army in 1944 and 1945. Stationed in Germany, he was injured in combat ' and was awarded a Purple Heart

Joseph was honorably discharged 5 Dec 1945.

After the war for 30 years, Joseph worked in Port Chester for the Premiere Microwave. Corp., a military contractor. He retired as the senior quality-control technician.

Joseph was a lifelong parishioner of the Resurrection Church of Rye. He was interested in aviation and model aircraft. An animal lover, Joseph often fed and looked after neighborhood strays.

Joseph N. Brancato of Rye, a quality-control technician at a Port Chester manufacturing company, died Wednesday October 14, 1992 at his home. He was 66.

At the time of his death, he was survived by three sisters, Theresa Caridi and. Ann Tremblay, both of Rye, and Rose Torok of Hillsborough,. N.C.; and 10 nieces and nephews.
