Warren T. Press


Warren Taylor Press was born on November 14, 1920, in Kelvington, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Christine Marie Jensen, age 23, and Sophus Frederick Press, age 28. He ad two sisters Majorie and Hazel and in Rye his family lived at 1330 Boston Post Road.

Warren was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1941. In school he was an outstanding athlete and president of his senior class.

Warren enlisted January 26,1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He spent two years overseas serving as a staff sergeant in North Africa and Italy.

He married Frances Shafer on December 25, 1945, in Rye, New York at Christ's Church Rye with the Rev Wendell Phillips rector performing the ceremony.

The couple would live in California and have six children during their marriage.

Warren lived in Fallbrook, CA for 39 years. Retiring in 1983, he worked as an electrician for Fischbach & Moore Inc. for 20 years.

Warren T. Press, 77, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, in Fallbrook CA.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Press of Fallbrook; sons Eric Press and Glenn Press, both of Fallbrook; Gary Press and Dean Press, both of Oceanside and David Press of Ahwahnee; daughter Nancy Brain of Ahwahnee; two sisters; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Inurnment was held at Riverside National Cemetery.
