Rocco J. Pasquale was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Rye to Joseph and Donata Buco Pasquale.He had eight brothers and sisters, Jerry, Mary, Frank, Anthony, Angelina, William, Jane and Joseph.
In Rye his family lived at 34 Elizabeth St. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Rocco was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1940.
He entered the Army on Sept. 23, 1942. Rocco served in a unit guarding the Panama Canal and he was discharged as a corporal on Nov. 26, 1945. Rocco lived his entire life in Rye, except for his service in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On October 7, 1951 he married Josephine DiGiorgio at Holy Rosary Church in Portchester. For 27 years, Rocco was a custodian for the Rye city school district. He retired in 1983.
For many years Rocco was a volunteer with the Rye Fire Department and he was also coach and manager for the 13- to 15-year-old division of the citys Babe Ruth Little League.
Rocco J. Pasquale, a lifelong Rye resident and former custodian for the Rye city school district, died October 7, 1989 at his home of cancer.. He was 68.
At the time of his death in addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Roxann Edixon of Fairfield, Conn.; a son . Robert J. Pasquale of Glenham, N.Y.; two brothers, Frank Pasquale and Anthony Pasquale, both of Rye; three sisters, Angelina Bochicchio and Mary Pasquale, both of Rye, and Jane Morano of Port Chester, and one grandson. Three brothers, Jerry, Joseph and William Pasquale, died earlier. .
