BIOGRAPHY
John N. Ozman was born in Maryland in 1913. In Rye his family lived at Blind Brook Lodge. John enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
John Norman Ozman
John Norman Ozman, 53, a truck driver for the department of public works of Rye, died Tuesday at United Hospital while his wife was visiting him. He had entered the hospital May 27.
The funeral will be from the William H. Graham Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Friday, followed by a solemn requiem mass at 11 o'clock in the Church of the Resurrection.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Fort Myers, Va. with full military honors. Mr. Ozman, who lived at 819 Halstead Avenue, Harrison, was a resident of Rye for 20 years prior to moving to Harrison three years ago.
He was born May 21, Love Point, Md., son of Luther Ozman of Arbutus, Md. and Mrs. Ozman. He was a veteran of WW II. He served as a private first class from 1936 to 1939, reenlisted October of the same year and was discharged in May 1941.
In addition to his wife father, Mr. Ozman is sun two sons, Charles Ozman's son High School student, ; John Ozman Jr., serving in marines at Camp Pendleton and who had been scheduled to leave for Viet Nam today; sister, Mrs. Esther Olivia Chester; and seven grandchildren.
