Edward Caddick Bancroft

Edward Caddick Bancroft was born on July 9, 1915, in Newburgh, New York, his father, Ralph, was 23 and his mother, Harriet, was 21. In Rye his family lived at 2 Adelaide St and were members of the Presbyterian Church.

Edward enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.


Cpl. Bancroft Promoted FORT RILEY, Kans.
Corporal Technician Edward C. Bancroft of Rye, who is a member of the 1156th Engineer Combat Group stationed at Camp Funston on the Fort Riley reservation, was promoted recently to that rank. Corporal Bancroft was inducted into the Army in January, 1944, and received his basic training at Camp Stewart, Ga. At present, he is a switch board operator in his Group. He is the son of Mrs. Harriet Bancroft, 2 Adelaide St., Rye.
