BIOGRAPHY
Harry A. Adams
Harry A. Adams was born in New York in 1925. In Rye his family lived at 290 Forest Avenue. He was the son of Harry L. Adams and Anna Herbst Adams, they were parishioners of the Church of the Resurrection. Harry had two sister Doris and Diane. Harry was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1942.
While at Rye High School he was on many different sports teams. He was said to be a quite humorous guy with some seriousness when it was needed. Harry enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.In WWII he served 18 months In the Pacific. He holds six service ribbons from the Asiatic-Pacific and ETO and three battle stars for the Philippine campaign.
Harry and his family were a big part of the Rye community both while he was living here or away serving the country. Harry himself was a part of several clubs or committees one being the Veterans Committee with several other veterans. He lived in Rye and the Rye area once moving back after the War.
Harry died on June 20, 1984 and was buried in Suffolk County.

Meisner of Lake-wood, NJ., and Chris Gateman of Uncasville, Conn;; and five grandchildren
