Arthur C. Gwynne

Arthur C Gwynne was born on January 29, 1907, in Rye, New York, his father, Arthur, was 36 and his mother, Edith, was 36. He had one brother John and two sisters Edith and Isabelle.

In Rye his family lived at 30 Evergreen Ave and were members of Christ's Church. Arthur attended Princeton University

He enlisted in the military on August 11, 1942, when he was 35 years old. Arthur served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

First at Fort Monmouth NJ. and then in October 1944 he went overseas and served in Northern France with a Signal Service Battalion. Arthur was honorably discharged October 1, 1945.

Both before and after the war he was renowned tennis player. He spent his working career as an accountant

Arthur C Gwynne died on March 6, 1984, in Southbury, Connecticut, at the age of 77.
