BIOGRAPHY
George J. Greeley
George J. Greeley was born on March 13, 1920, in Rye, New York, his father, Hugh, was 34 and his mother, Ellen, was 32. He had one daughter with Orpha May Dipert.. In Rye his family lived at
108 Wappanocca Ave
. George was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1940. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
George married Orpha ''Tommy'' Greeley in September, 1946. He was a retired machinist for LTV , later Vought Aircraft. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3460 in Grand Prairie where he served as financial secretary and Grand Knight. George was a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. George had lived in Grand Prairie for 45 years.
George J Greeley died Sunday January 9, 1994 at an Irving hospital. He was 73.
At the time of his death he was survived by his wife of 47 years Orpha ''Tommy'' Greeley of Grand Prairie daughter Karen George of Grand Prairie, two brothers Gregory Greeley of Port Chester NY and Peter Greeley of Whiting NJ, five sisters Mary Krulin of Ocala Fla, Eileen Sullivan of Inverness Fla, Vincetta Greeley of New York NY, Catherine Crebbs of Tucson Ariz and Joan Geoghegan of Yardley Pa and four grandchildren.
George was buried in Southland Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX
