Vincent E. Ganun was born in New York in 1916. In Rye his family lived at 110 Boston Post Road. Vincent enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Vincent E. Ganun, a longtime resident of Port Chester, NY died of natural causes on August 8, 2003 at his home. He was 87.

Mr. Ganun worked as a gas station attendant for Rye Garage in Rye, NY. He was with the company for 30 years before retiring in 1960. Mr. Ganun was born January 6, 1916 in Rye to Chauncey and Cora June. He was educated in Rye and graduated from Rye High School.

Mr. Ganun served in the Army Air Force in 1941 attaining the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Ganun lived in Port Chester for the past 50 years. Before that he lived in Rye. Locally, he was a member of the Rye Police Reserve.

He is survived by nephews Stephen Ganun of Brewster, NY and James Ganun of Milford, CT. Family members who died earlier include his wife Maria, three sisters and two brothers.
