Rolf C. Armer


Rolf C. Armer was born on December 15, 1922, in Berlin, Germany, to Agathe Alice Herrmann, age 22, and Hans Armer, age 28. Rolf attended Milton School and Rye High School, where he was graduated with the class of 1941. While attending school in Rye, he lived with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Houston, 347 - Oakland Beach Avenue.

After completing one term at Norwich University, he enlisted in the Army, receiving his basic training at Camp Lee, Va., followed by O.C.S. at Fort Benning, Ga., where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Infantry.

Assigned to Military Intelligence, he went overseas in 1944, receiving a citation followed by promotion to First Lieutenant and later Captain.

Rolf was married in Paris July 15, 1945 to Mademoiselle Monique Derrien.

He received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Norwich University's 130th commencement in 1949. At Norwich he was consistently on Dean's List, was president sophomore others class and was accepted into the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Following graduation, Rolf was employed by Boeing Airplane Company, Seattle, Wash. as an engineer.

Rolf C. Armer passed away July 6, 1996 in Lake Bluff, Illinois.
