John M. Coughlin

John M. Coughlin was born in Port Chester on May 19, 1926, son of the late James and Margaret Costello Coughlin.. In Rye his family lived at 21 Grapal St. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. John enlisted in U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Lola May Wandling on August 23, 1947, in Sunnyside, Washington. They had one child during their marriage.

A lifelong resident of Rye, John who was a self-employed painting contractor. He attended Rye schools and was a member of the Poningo Engine and Hose Company of the Rye Fire Department. He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection and a World War II I Army veteran.

John M. Coughlin died on 10/23/1975, He was 49. A Mass of the Resurrection was held Saturday at the Church of the Resurrection for John Michael Coughlin, 49, of 46 Purchase Street. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.

At the time of his death, John was survived by his wife, the former Edith Bellantoni of the home address, and a daughter, Margaret of the State of Washington. He was also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Ann Kilmonick and Mrs. Ellen D'Angelo of Rye, Mrs. Mary Archer of Port Chester and Mrs. Patricia McNamara; two brothers, Daniel Coughlin who is a Rye fire inspector and James Coughlin, both of Rye; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of the Resurrection was held at the Church of the Resurrection for John Michael Coughlin of 46 Purchase Street. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
